Phil  graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where he recieved a Bachelor of Arts in music.  There, his studies included lessons with Brett Shurtliffe, Associate Principal Bass with the Buffalo Philharmonic and Improvisation Theory with jazz legend Dave Schiavone.  His experience there included performances with the College's Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra.

He has played live in concert throughout WNY in a variety of genres including Pop, Jazz, Country, R&B, and as an orchestral musician with the Cheektowaga and Southern Tier Symphonies.  He is currently working as a freelance and session musician in the Buffalo area.  Phil has shared the stage with Ernie Weber, Dave Schiavone, Bob Sowyrda, Ardriatic Bracca and other notable WNY musicians.  He currently gigs with the Jake MacDavid Trio.

His professional affliations include the International Society of Bassists and the Buffalo Musicians Union, Local 92.
